I have worked for almost 5 months with xamarin forms and xamarin for my app. Basically I have finished everything and it does run, however the xamarin.forms part is much too slow on older devices. What I have seen is that the "pure" Xamarin.Android and Xamarin.iOS is faster for certain things like listview rendering. In this current state, I cannot publish my app because it will only run properly on very fast devices. This is bad as I totally rely on things like Binding, MVVM and the like. But it is not fast enough for these devices.
Would you say it is better to port the complete xamarin.forms part to the xamarin.ios and xamarin.android platform or is it better to give it a try and work more with customized elements. Who here in the forum has experience with that situation?
If anyone from the xamarin team would like to test the app I can also send it to you to investigate, but I wont upload it here in the forum.
