Implementing Side-Menu on iOS (aside from default Master-View behaviour)

Hello,

I am looking to implement a side menu in an iOS Xamarin.Forms application. Whilst the Master-Detail view provides the basic functionality I require, it doesn't function in a way that suits a true side menu.

Below are some of the things that I believe I need to implement over the Master-Detail default behaviour:

  1. M-D allows for fullscreen dragging across to reveal the menu. I want to implement it more in a swipe-gesture manner, so that it does not interfere with detail screen scrolling.
  2. M-D scrolls across as if it is revealing the Master view underneath. Instead, I want to implement it as "sliding" across (so that content appears to come from off-screen to the left, rather than being revealed from below).
  3. M-D doesn't implement any animations. I want to make the experience more fluid by implementing iOS Spring animations.

Are these things possible in Xamarin.Forms? If so, as this is the basis of the interface of my entire app, is it going to be too much trouble vs just an iOS default implementation... I am only targeting iOS, but find the way Xamarin.Forms is abstracted out to be very efficient for interface design.

Thanks in advance,
Richard
