TCPClient and WebClient alternatives?

Hi,
are there any (easy to use) alternatives for the TCPClient(System.Net.Sockets) and WebClient(System.Net) Classes?
I need them for integrating the App into an already existing login process(using a TCP Server) and getting some temporary files from our WebServer.
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me. The PCL is targeting Android, iOS, Win8 and WinPhone Silverlight 8(the default Mobile Apps Portable target on Visual Studio).
If I'm asking an already known question, I'm sorry but I'm new to Xamarin.Forms.
